Alliance Bolivia

Alliance Bolivia, a consortium of healthcare nonprofits working in Bolivia, works in conjunction with local healthcare authorities to provide healthcare to rural parts of Bolivia.

Yapay Bolivia is proud to be a member of Alliance Bolivia and, in partnership with ProMujer and Etta Projects, runds two MobilTek units in the Santa Cruz province. MobilTek units provide an effective medical outreach to poor and underserved communities that lack proper medical access. Each MobilTek unit has essential medical assessment equipment, which includes:

Tablet and Tablet Swing-arm

Battery with day-long power

Ear-nose-throat-skin camera

Wireless cell router

Vital signs equipment

Digital Stethoscope

12 Lead USB EKG

Alliance Bolivia also provides a trainer for the person taking the vitals and interacting via teleconferencing with a healthcare professional.

Susan Hou Clinic

The Centro Medico Susan Hou (formally known as The Centro Medico Humberto Parra) is a clinic operating in the jungle of Bolivia entirely off of private donations and unpaid service of healthcare professionals. The clinic is approaching 18 years of providing free or nearly free medical care for the 15 surrounding agricultural communities.

Treating over 3,000 patients per year, the CMSH provides healthcare to agricultural workers who earn less than $3/day. The CMSH is one of the only healthcare providers for the population of these rainforest communities and provides healthcare to those who would otherwise go untreated.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Established in 2001 by two Chicago physicians, Drs. Susan Hou and Mark Molitch, the clinic is funded by these generous doctors with some limited support from other donors.

Supplies such as medications, baby blankets, and Days for Girls hygiene kits have also been donated to the Centro Medico Susan Hou.
